What is a bone-healthy diet? Calcium is the main building material of bone. In addition to calcium, our bodies need other important nutrients such as magnesium, protein, vitamin K, and vitamin D for keeping our bones strong and healthy. Milk, cheese, yogurt and other dairy products; and green, leafy vegetables such as spinach, broccoli and kale are good sources of calcium. Beans are vitamin K rich foods.
